Come along and join in the fun.<\/p>\r\n <\/p>\r\n The Lockerley and East Dean War Memorial Hall \u2013 to use its full name \u2013 was built in the early 1900s. \u00a0The land was donated to the villages of Lockerley and East Dean by Frederick Dalgety. \u00a0The building has been extended significantly over the years and in the late 1990s a separate wing was added to house our Children and Young People activities.<\/p>\r\n As a Memorial Hall, the building carries two plaques which commemorate events in the two world wars that took place in the 1900s.\u00a0 One plaque to the side of the Coffee Shop Annex, notes those of the village who fell in the first world war \u2013 aka \u2018The Great War\u2019.\u00a0 A simple stone paviar, set into the ground of the entrance to the hall, commemorates the Victoria Cross of Frederick Luke.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n <\/p>\r\n The Hall hosts a number of regular activities available for you to join, including our local post office, coffee shop, art group, badminton club and brownies and guides groups. \u00a0Check our calendar<\/a> to find out what\u2019s going.<\/p>\r\n <\/p>\r\n We’re launching a new Youth Club for Lockerley’s young people, starting in January 2026.<\/p>\r\n “The Hive” will take place on Friday evenings, initially on a monthly basis. There will be Juniors (Ages 7-11) and Seniors (Ages 11-16). The Club will also run a joined session alongside “The Lock Inn” pub nights.<\/p>\r\n View More Details\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\r\n The Hall and its facilities are completely managed and maintained by volunteers. \u00a0If you would like to contribute to help in the running of the Hall, we are always looking for people to help care for the hall and arrange fund-raising events in aid of hall funds. A public access defibrillator is installed under the entrance porch;
