Our next Management Committee meeting is on Wednesday 9 September at 6.30pm, and everyone is welcome.<\/p>\r\n

The Hall is thriving, with more happening than ever, but it only works because local people give their time to make things happen.<\/p>\r\n

As we look towards another year, we\u2019d love more people to get involved \u2013 whether that\u2019s occasionally helping at an event, supporting one of our activities, or perhaps becoming part of the team that helps run the Hall.<\/p>\r\n

Coming to the meeting doesn\u2019t commit you to anything. Come along, hear what\u2019s happening, share your ideas and find out whether there\u2019s something you\u2019d enjoy being part of.<\/p>\r\n

\ud83c\udfe0 Our New Roof Project<\/h2>\r\n

Our much-needed roof replacement and insulation project is nearing completion, helping to secure the future of our Village Hall for many years to come.<\/p>\r\n

The Hall remains OPEN as usual while the final works are completed.<\/p>\r\n

A huge thank you to everyone for bearing with us during the works \u2013 and to all those who have helped make this major investment in our Hall possible.<\/p>\r\n

Come and join us for another evening at The Lock Inn!<\/p>\r\n

Our pop-up village pub returns on Thursday 25 September. Come along for a drink, catch up with friends and neighbours, and enjoy a relaxed evening at your Village Hall.<\/p>\r\n

About us, at the Hall<\/h2>\r\n

The Lockerley and East Dean War Memorial Hall \u2013 to use its full name \u2013 was built in the early 1900s. \u00a0The land was donated to the villages of Lockerley and East Dean by Frederick Dalgety. \u00a0The building has been extended significantly over the years and in the late 1990s a separate wing was added to house our Children and Young People activities.<\/p>\r\n

As a Memorial Hall, the building carries two plaques which commemorate events in the two world wars that took place in the 1900s.\u00a0 One plaque to the side of the Coffee Shop Annex, notes those of the village who fell in the first world war \u2013 aka \u2018The Great War\u2019.\u00a0 A simple stone paviar, set into the ground of the entrance to the hall, commemorates the Victoria Cross of Frederick Luke.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n

\"\"A public access defibrillator is installed under the entrance porch;
instructions for its use are found on the front panel of the defibrillator. \u00a0The defibrillator, whilst housed at the Hall, is under the care and maintenance of Lockerley Parish Council. \u00a0For any questions or concerns please contact clerk@lockerley-pc.gov.uk<\/p>\r\n\r\n
